In the past four months, the general cargo handling business in the port of Horam Shah, Iran has increased by 59%.
Nourollah Asadi, managing director of Khorramshahr port and Maritime, said: “More than 738,483 tons of non-oil cargo was loaded at Khorramshahr port, an increase of 59% compared to the same period last year.”
Referring to the main export commodities of Khorramshahr, he said that the main commodities exported from the port of Horam Shahr to the Persian Gulf countries are metals, building materials, minerals, animal products, household appliances, fertilizers. And chemical pesticides.
Asadi pointed out that in the past four months, more than 4,000 non-container ships have loaded and unloaded cargo at the port of Horamshahr. Compared with the same period last year, Khorramshahr Port has increased by 42% in this respect.
Regarding the increase in the number of international passengers transiting from Khorramshahr to Kuwait, the Managing Director of the Horam Shahr Port and Maritime Department stated that in the first four months of this year, in the port of Horam Shahr More than 7,863 passengers were registered on the Kuwait route.
He added that this figure has increased by 35% compared to the same period last year.
